America250 Mississippi, together with America250—the official national organization charged by Congress with commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, proudly announce Mississippi’s newest America’s Field Trip awardees.

America’s Field Trip is a nationwide contest inviting students in grades 3–12 to reflect on the question: “What does America mean to you?” America’s Field Trip awardees hail from various states, U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. A diverse panel of judges consisting of current and former educators reviews and scores submissions based on weighted criteria.

Two students from Mississippi were selected as second-place winners this term and will receive a cash prize. The Mississippi awardees are Jordyne H., a 12th-grade student from Clinton, and Thomas P., a 12th-grade student from Canton.

“America’s Field Trip is a wonderful opportunity for Mississippi youth to explore, appreciate, and celebrate the richness of our great nation,” said First Lady and America250 Mississippi Co-Chair Elee Reeves. “We are so proud of Jordyne and Thomas for their hard work and for representing the brilliance of our students!”
