The Mississippi Rural Hospital Alliance and the Delta Health Transformational Council, Inc. are among six organizations from Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana selected to participate in the Delta Rural Integrated Health Network Program.
It was announced Tuesday that the two Mississippi organizations will benefit from a $2.8 million grant to improve healthcare delivery in the Delta region by developing networks among rural hospitals, primary care clinics, behavioral health providers, and other essential healthcare organizations.
“This program focused on the Mississippi Delta is designed to address the administrative, cost, and healthcare delivery challenges faced by rural hospitals and clinics. Finding better ways to work together as small, rural hospitals and clinics is part of an overall initiative to help them survive and improve care,” said U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, who worked to secure the HHS Rural Health Outreach Grants funding through the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development program in FY2026.
The Delta Rural Integrated Health Network Program supports HRSA coordination with the Delta Regional Authority (DRA), which began in 2017, to enhance healthcare delivery in the rural counties and parishes of the Delta region.
