The Thacker Mountain Radio Hour is pleased to announce its spring season finale on Thursday, April 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Graduate Hotel Oxford. The event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and bar service is available.
Thacker Mountain Radio Hour is Mississippi’s only live radio program that spotlights the state’s music, literature, and culture. Hosted by Jim Dees with Paul Tate and the Yalobushwhacker Big Band with the Thacker Horns, the show will feature guest vocalist Mary Frances Massey.
Southern novelist Stephen Hundley, author of “Bomb Island,” will be the literary guest for the evening. Publishers Weekly describes Hundley’s work as a mashup of Mark Twain and Shakespeare with a colorful adventure story.
Musical performances will include gospel rockers The Wilkins Sisters and Nashville duo Irakli Gabriel & Anana Kaye, all promising to raise the roof and deliver an unforgettable night of music.
“We’re going out with a big bang for our spring season,” said Dees. “It’s been an amazing season, and we’re excited to wrap it up with such a fantastic lineup of talent.”
