On Saturday, July 1st, Jeffery Simmons kicked off his first of four events in his hometown of Macon, MS, to host a Community Fun Day at Noxubee County Sportsplex. The day was filled with food, games, and fun activities for families and friends, including live entertainment, flag football games, food trucks, bounce houses, and face painting, and the night ended with a fireworks show. The Mayor of Macon, Phillip McGuire, presented Jeffery with the first-ever received Key to the City to honor his commitment to giving back to the community.

Jeffery Simmons and his Give Em A Reason Foundation partnered with Academy Sports + Outdoors on Thursday, July 6, to surprise ten youth athletes in Starkville with a shopping spree. Each child received $300 gift cards for them to purchase new football gear, clothes, shoes, and more.

Jeffery Simmons held a two-day youth football camp in Starkville on July 7th and 8th for youth athletes aged 7 and up. Jeffery, along with teammate Malik Willis of the Tennessee Titans and other NFL stars such as Willie Gay of the Kansas City Chiefs, Tyre Phillips of the New York Giants, Elgton Jenkins of the Green Bay Packers, JT Gray of the New Orleans Saints, Daquan Jones of the Buffalo Bills, and Steven Adegoke the Houston Texans safeties coach was on-site to teach campers fundamental football skills, with an emphasis on teamwork, discipline, and hard work.

“My heart is in the community here and my community in Macon,” said Jeffery Simmons. “It’s for our youth and creating more opportunities for them. I want to build that self-esteem for the youth so one day they can be in the same place as I am in the pros.”
