Steel industry supplier P.C. Campana Inc. is establishing operations in Vicksburg, bringing new investment and job opportunities to the River City. The project represents a $3.43 million corporate investment and will create 17 jobs as the company expands its footprint in Mississippi.
Founded in 1969, P.C. Campana manufactures alloyed cored wire, cored wire feeders, and metal-cutting products used by steel producers nationwide. Over the next three years, the company plans to relocate two manufacturing lines into two existing buildings at the Port of Vicksburg, positioning the operation to better serve customers throughout the southern United States.
State leaders say the announcement reflects Mississippi’s continued momentum in attracting industrial investment. Gov. Tate Reeves welcomed the company, noting the long-term impact of projects like this on communities and families across the state.
“Mississippi is proud to welcome P.C. Campana to Vicksburg,” Reeves said. “This latest investment in the River City is another clear sign that our momentum continues strong across the state. When companies choose Mississippi, they know they’re getting a world-class workforce and communities that are ready to help them succeed — all in one of the best states in the nation for business. Industrial investments like this sustain families for generations and keep our economy competitive and moving forward.”
The Mississippi Development Authority is supporting the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, program. P.C. Campana expects to fill the 17 new positions over the next five years as operations scale up.
Company leadership emphasized that the move aligns with its values as a family-owned, American manufacturer focused on proximity and service. CEO Pat Campana Jr. said the Vicksburg location will strengthen relationships with customers while supporting regional growth.
“As a family-owned, American company, we have always believed that strong partnerships and local presence matter,” Campana said. “Expanding into Vicksburg allows us to better serve steelmakers across the southern United States with faster response times, reduced freight costs, and the same dependable products and service we have delivered since 1969. We are excited to become part of the Vicksburg community and to build long-term relationships that support both the steel industry and the region’s continued growth.”
Local officials also praised the decision, calling it a vote of confidence in Vicksburg’s business environment. Mayor Willis Thompson said the project underscores the city’s readiness to support industrial growth.
“We are proud to welcome such an important supplier to the steel industry to our city,” Thompson said. “P.C. Campana’s decision to make its first Mississippi investment here in Vicksburg shows the strength of our business climate and the momentum we’re building. Our city is open for business, and through our economic development partnerships, we stand ready to support companies as they grow and succeed right here in Vicksburg.”
With its strategic riverfront location and expanding industrial base, Vicksburg continues to attract manufacturers seeking efficiency, workforce strength, and long-term opportunity, and P.C. Campana’s arrival adds another chapter to that progress.
