Kansas City Southern (KCS) Railway is providing railroad HAZMAT training this Wednesday May 10, 2023, on the Mississippi State Fire Academy (MSFA) Campus from 8:30am-4:30pm. MSFA is excited to use the Train Derailment scenario and the variety of props at our disposal for such collaboration to provide hands on training. Fire Departments, Emergency Management Agencies, Police Departments, and Community Emergency Response Service Providers, Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs) are invited.

- Basic Railroad Incident Scene Safety
- Tank car anatomy (low & high pressure)
- Tank car valves & fittings
- Chlorine C-kit Application
- Tank care damage assessment
- Non-accident releases & packaging defects
- Flammable liquids tank car considerations

TRANSCAER focuses on Transportation, Community Awareness, & Emergency support. This event will be held on MSFA Campus #1 Fire Academy USA, Jackson, MS 39208 (next to MEMA) and will consist of five (5) breakout sessions to provide thorough hands-on training. Registration remains open until the start the event. Walk-ins are welcome to register on-site at the training event, however pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
