The Healthy Hub Initiative Fruits & Vegetables Distribution, funded by The MolinaCares Accord and led in partnership with Boss Lady Dr. Pam Chatman, Mississippi State University Extension – AIM for CHangE, Delta Directions, University of Mississippi’s CREW, and the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, is proud to announce a statewide effort to combat food insecurity and expand access to fresh, nutritious produce across Mississippi.

This impactful initiative focuses on delivering thousands of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to food pantries across the state—particularly during the critical summer months when children and families face increased food insecurity due to school closures.

“We are committed to ensuring that no child or family goes hungry,” said Dr. Pam Chatman, founder of Boss Lady Economic Planning & Development. “This partnership is about more than food — it’s about dignity, health, and hope.”

Thanks to support from MolinaCares, the Healthy Hub Initiative is expanding its reach to serve more communities, with a special focus on underserved and rural areas.

Working in collaboration with local food pantries and volunteers, the team promotes healthier eating habits while delivering essential fresh produce to those in need.

To date, food has been distributed to 1,321 individuals in communities including Horn Lake, Yazoo City, Mound Bayou, Batesville, and Hernando, with upcoming distribution events scheduled for Louise, Drew, and Water Valley, Mississippi.

“MolinaCares is proud to support this vital initiative,” said Laurie Williams, AVP of Growth and Member Engagement at Molina Healthcare of Mississippi. “Access to healthy food is fundamental to overall well-being, and we are honored to help make that a reality for more Mississippians.”

The Healthy Hub Initiative welcomes media, community leaders, and volunteers to join in spreading awareness and supporting this vital effort to nourish Mississippi–one family at a time. To get involved, email volunteer@cfnm.org.
