Modine, a global leader in thermal management technology, is making a major investment in Grenada County, Mississippi, by upgrading one of its existing facilities to manufacture data center cooling equipment. The company’s expansion represents a corporate investment of more than $38 million by the end of 2028 and is expected to create over 450 new jobs.

The project includes building enhancements and the addition of new product lines to meet the growing demand for Modine’s advanced data center cooling solutions. With this development, Modine reinforces its commitment to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient technologies for mission-critical industries.

“This is another big economic development win for Grenada County and Mississippi. Four-hundred-and-fifty jobs are a lot of jobs, and that means a lot of meaningful careers for Mississippians,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “Modine’s investment speaks volumes to our dedication to cultivating one of the top business environments in the country. Companies like Modine are increasingly relying on Mississippi to get the job done right and on time. The ‘Mississippi Momentum’ is real, and this is our time to show the world everything that makes our state the optimal place to invest.”

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is supporting the expansion by providing assistance for building improvements, while Entergy Mississippi is addressing utility infrastructure needs to support the project.

“Modine’s $38 million expansion marks another huge win for Grenada County,” said MDA Executive Director Bill Cork. “Just as exciting is the fact that Modine is creating hundreds of new jobs for the region’s workforce. MDA is in the business of bringing new opportunities to the people of our state, and these are the types of projects that keep them in good, steady jobs—jobs that will one day be filled by future generations of Mississippians. We are proud to support Modine’s growth and appreciate the company for choosing to produce its data center cooling equipment right here at home.”

Local officials and development leaders praised the expansion as a milestone for the region’s economy.

“The expansion of Modine’s operations in Grenada, Mississippi, with an investment of more than $38 million and the creation of over 450 new high-paying jobs, serves as a testament to the thriving business climate of Mississippi and Grenada County,” said Matthew Harrison, President and CEO of the Greater Grenada Partnership. “It further highlights the pro-business attitude of the Grenada County Board of Supervisors and the Greater Grenada Partnership, demonstrating their commitment to fostering growth, attracting investment and building a prosperous future for our industrial partners. Modine has been a valued partner and we thank them for their continued commitment to Grenada County.”

Entergy Mississippi echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the long-term impact of such industrial growth.

“Modine and Grenada County have a bright future, and Entergy Mississippi is proud and prepared to serve it,” said Ed Gardner, Vice President of Business and Economic Development for Entergy Mississippi. “Industrial expansion in our communities continues to bolster workforce and economic development across the state and this announcement is a great example of our teamwork with the Mississippi Development Authority and local organizations like the Greater Grenada Partnership.”

As Modine moves forward with its investment, the project is expected to stimulate further economic activity in the area, strengthen local supply chains, and provide long-term career opportunities for Mississippi residents.
