Major League Baseball Jr. Home Run Derby (Jr. HRD) is an event series for softball and baseball players – ages 12-16 – to showcase their hitting skills, compete against their peers, and earn a spot at the National Finals, which take place during the MLB All-Star Week.
These local events give youth organizations an opportunity to provide a free, fun, and high-quality experience for their participants. Even more, they aim to help the local group markets expand their programs while building a strong relationship with MLB, MiLB, and its partners. Inclusion and access are always a top priority for us, and we’re excited to announce, the program is expanding to include a softball-specific competition in the 14U and 16U age divisions. This includes specific rules and guidelines dedicated to softball and participants in those divisions.
