AccelerateMS, in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, launched regional GranTrak sessions to help providers transition into the state’s new unified workforce grant management system.
The sessions offered hands-on guidance to ensure providers were equipped to navigate the platform effectively. The transition marked an important step toward building a more unified, efficient, and impactful workforce development ecosystem for Mississippi’s employers, providers, and workers.
“With the launch of GranTrak, our goal was to make it easier for organizations to do what they do best — deliver meaningful opportunities that strengthen Mississippi’s workforce,” said Shelika Hooker, director of grants management at AccelerateMS. “This system reduced administrative burdens, improved clarity, and allowed providers to focus their energy on meeting the needs of Mississippi’s workers and employers.”
GranTrak is a product designed for grant-giving organizations to monitor how funds are utilized and to view multiple perspectives that reflect both fiscal responsibility and community impact accountability. Integrated with the Mississippi Works system, it also leverages valuable data on job seekers’ skills, qualifications, and demographics to guide the allocation of Workforce Enhancement Training (WET) funds.
By analyzing these profiles, agencies can identify skill gaps, target upskilling efforts for specific groups and align resources with evolving labor market needs. This data-driven approach ensures that workforce investments are responsive and accountable — supporting measurable outcomes such as job placements and wage growth, and ultimately strengthening connections between participants, employers and the state’s workforce priorities.
Previously, WET funds were administered through the Workforce Enhancement Subgrant System under the oversight of the Mississippi Community College Board. With the implementation of GranTrak, all workforce grant funds are now managed in one centralized platform, simplifying processes, improving transparency and expanding access to workforce development resources across Mississippi.
With GranTrak now in place, Mississippi is better equipped to align resources, measure results and respond to evolving workforce needs. This achievement underscored the state’s readiness to embrace innovation and data-driven solutions that strengthen its workforce for years to come.
