The Mississippi National Guard’s Camp McCain Training Center is hosting Retiree Day North, Friday, May 3, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am. All retirees are invited to attend the event located on the Camp McCain Parade Field at 3152 James H. Biddy Rd. in Grenada.

Due to the success of last year’s events, the Mississippi National Guard will continue hosting two separate events celebrating Mississippi Military Retirees – a Retiree Day North at Camp McCain, followed by a Retiree Day South at Camp Shelby in November. These geographically separated events allow retirees to attend a Retiree Day event closer to home – Retiree Day North focuses on retirees located north of the Jackson/I-20 corridor, while Retiree Day South focuses on retirees who reside south of the Jackson/I-20 corridor. However, Mississippi retirees can attend either event or both events regardless of hometown.

Military, Retiree and Veteran assistance will be available to all attendees and includes Chaplains, DEERS and ID Card information, Airman & Family Readiness information, MSNG Retirement Services Office, Family Programs, Tricare, and VA Benefits Officers, among others.

Maj. Gen. Trent Kelly, congressman, and current assistant adjutant general for the Mississippi Army National Guard, is the keynote speaker of the event. Maj. Gen. Janson D. Boyles, the adjutant general of Mississippi, Command Sgt. Maj. Silvester Tatum, MSNG senior enlisted leader, and Col. Joy Alexander, commander of Camp McCain Training Center, will also speak during the event.
