Mississippi Main Street Association (MMSA) has been awarded the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant in the amount of $750,000 funded through the Historic Preservation Fund administered by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior.
The grant supports the rehabilitation of historic buildings and aligns with the mission of MMSA to revitalize historic downtowns across the state while strengthening local economies and creating opportunities for Mississippi communities to grow and succeed.
As the grant recipient, MMSA will administer a subgrant program that will make these funds available through smaller grants to eligible Mississippi Main Street Designated Communities for brick and mortar projects in the historic downtown districts.
“The Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant gives Mississippi Main Street the opportunity to help communities breathe new life into historic places while creating opportunities for small businesses, investment, and long-term economic vitality,” said Jeannie Waller Zieren, MMSA Executive Director. “We are excited to offer this grant program to our Designated Main Street Communities which further reinforces the power of Main Street to strengthen communities across Mississippi.”
More information about the subgrant program, including eligibility, application details and timelines, will be shared as they become available.
