The Mississippi House has formally recognized the outstanding career and lifelong public service of Mr. Charles F. McClelland, Sr., through House Concurrent Resolution 43, authored by Representative Gregory Holloway and Representative Richard Bennett.
Mr. McClelland, a graduate of Callaway High School and Alcorn State University, has dedicated his life to the advancement of education, civic engagement, and community development across Mississippi. A former standout athlete, he was inducted into the Alcorn State University Sports Hall of Fame and the Southwestern Athletic Conference Hall of Fame.
Beyond athletics, Mr. McClelland has held leadership roles on numerous boards and commissions, including the State Board of Education and the Mississippi Home Corporation. His contributions span education, infrastructure, and economic development initiatives that have impacted communities statewide.
Recognized with numerous awards for his humanitarian efforts and public leadership, Mr. McClelland continues to serve as a mentor and advocate for youth empowerment and educational equity.
The resolution celebrates his enduring legacy and the positive impact he has made on the lives of Mississippians.
