MEI Industrial Solutions has signed a lease for the former Levi Building in Gluckstadt, securing 300,000 square feet of industrial space as the company expands its Mississippi operations and plans to add up to 100 new jobs in the coming weeks.
The expansion marks a significant investment in Madison County’s industrial sector and positions the company for continued long-term growth in the region.
The newly leased facility will serve as a key hub for MEI’s growing Mississippi presence. The 300,000-square-foot building provides the operational capacity needed to support the company’s expansion, while MEI officials say they are also exploring additional opportunities to further increase their footprint within the state.
In conjunction with the lease, MEI plans to hire between 75 and 100 employees over the next month. Those additions will bring the company’s Mississippi workforce to approximately 150 employees, with further hiring expected as operations continue to grow.
“Expanding into Madison County reflects MEI’s ongoing commitment to serving our clients with greater accessibility and responsiveness throughout the region,” said Brandon Fish, MEI Industrial Solutions regional vice president for the Southeast. “We’re excited to establish a presence in the City of Gluckstadt and look forward to becoming an active member of the community while supporting its continued growth.”
Local leaders welcomed the announcement, saying the investment strengthens Madison County’s economy while creating new employment opportunities.

Morrison IV. “Seeing the former Levi Building come back to life with new jobs is something our residents will celebrate. This is exactly the kind of economic momentum we’ve been working to create in Gluckstadt, and we look forward to watching MEI grow right here alongside us.”
The Madison County Economic Development Authority also praised the company’s decision to establish operations in Gluckstadt.
“MEI’s decision to plant roots in Gluckstadt is exactly the kind of investment that propels Madison County forward,” the authority said in a statement. “MCEDA looks forward to partnering with MEI Industrial Solutions to build something lasting — for the company, for the workforce and for the future of this region.”
Joseph P. Deason, executive director of the Madison County Economic Development Authority, said the announcement further demonstrates the county’s ability to attract industrial investment.
“Madison County continues to attract and retain world-class companies, and MEI Industrial Solutions is a prime example of why Mississippi is a top destination for industrial investment,” Deason said. “We are thrilled to welcome MEI’s expanded presence and can’t wait to see the jobs and opportunities this growth will bring to our community.”
The lease represents another step in the continued development of Gluckstadt’s industrial and commercial base, while the revitalization of the former Levi Building returns a major manufacturing facility to productive use. Economic development officials expect the project to generate additional investment and employment opportunities as MEI continues expanding its Mississippi operations.
