The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, in partnership with Magnolia Data Solutions and the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership, will host a Jackson Metro Area Business E-Waste Collection Day on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mississippi Farmers Market, located at 929 High Street, Jackson, MS 39202.

The collection event is open to all businesses and individuals in the Jackson metro area, including Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties. The event provides an opportunity to responsibly recycle unwanted electronic equipment and certain rechargeable batteries while helping protect Mississippi’s environment.

 

Acceptable electronic items include:

  • Computers and laptops
  • Desktop copiers
  • Computer components
  • Fax machines
  • Radios and stereos
  • Televisions
  • Cell phones and desk phones
  • VCR and DVD players
  • Electronic games
  • Monitors
  • Keyboards
  • Printers
  • Scanners

Lithium-ion, lead-acid and nickel-metal hydride batteries will also be accepted. Alkaline batteries will not be accepted.

 

Fees:

  • $2 fee for flat screen computer monitors (LCD/LED)
  • $5 fee for CRT computer monitors
  • $15 fee for all televisions
  • No cost for other accepted items

 

Event Precautions:

For the safety of participants and staff, all traffic in the drop-off area will be one-way only. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles while interacting with event staff. Staff will unload materials, and any applicable fees may be paid on site.

Proper recycling of electronic waste helps prevent potentially harmful materials from entering landfills and conserves valuable resources through reuse and recovery.
