Last week, the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) successfully recovered a tractor and skid steer stolen from a transport trucking company delivery trailer in Yazoo County.
On July 19, the Yazoo City Police Department received a report of two stolen pieces of agricultural equipment, a 2026 Kubota M4-071 4WD tractor with front end loader and a 2026 Kubota SVL65-2 skid steer. Both pieces of equipment had been taken off a delivery trailer from the transport trucking company. The truck was parked in Yazoo City for the drivers’ rest period on the way to Kubota dealerships in Mississippi and Louisiana.
MALTB, working in conjunction with investigators from the Jackson Police Department and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, recovered both pieces of stolen equipment. On July 21, the skid steer was located and recovered at a residence in Jackson, Mississippi. One male suspect was arrested in this recovery and transported to the Jackson Police Department.
The suspect arrested in Jackson, Mississippi, in connection with the stolen skid steer has been identified as 24-year-old Shumar Isaiah Wilson. Wilson (pictured) has been charged with one count of receiving stolen property.
As the investigation continued, investigators were able to recover the tractor in Yazoo County. This recovery was made possible with the assistance of the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
MALTB Director Dean Barnard stated this is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are expected as the case continues. Director Barnard would like to commend the investigators from the Jackson Police Department, MALTB, and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department for their continued effort and work on the recovery of the stolen agricultural equipment.
