The Internationally recognized and admired Jackson State “Sonic Boom” band directed by Dr. Roderick Little will perform at the inaugural Colombean Coffee Hank Aaron Tribute Game on April 5th at Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS. where the Mississippi Braves will take on the Jackson State Tigers baseball team in the inaugural Colombean Coffee Hank Aaron Tribute Charity Game an exhibition/charity game.

“This event is an outstanding way to give back to our beloved community. One of the goals of the Sonic Boom is to act as an ambassador of goodwill for our University and this will ensure that we’re upholding this standard to assist in raising funds to revitalize youth sports facilities in Jackson. By being a native of Jackson myself, having activities and outlets for the youth is of the utmost importance for their growth and development”. – Dr. Roderick Little – JSU Sonic Boom (Band) Director.

Tim Bennett and Colombean Coffee Company will cover all costs associated with the game with the net proceeds from sales going towards the Revitalization of youth sports facilities in the capital city of Jackson, MS.

Jackson has the unfortunate designation of having 7 High Schools with not one of them having an on-campus baseball field to practice or play on. The Hank Aaron Sports Academy now serves as the home for all teams to practice and play – at no cost to the teams.

“It’s a real special treat to have Dr. Little extend his support for this game so that we can assist in making Jackson a better, improved community to serve its youth. This will certainly add to the excitement and culture of the game and we are truly thankful to Jackson State and the Atlanta Braves for allowing us to bring together two dynamic programs.” – Tim Bennett, CEO Hank Aaron Sports
