Officials at the Hank Aaron Sports Academy announced today that the Hope Credit Union Championship Baseball Tournament will be taking place in just one week on April 27th – 30th at Smith Wills Stadium.
In a 6 team conference, consisting of 2 Mississippi schools (Tougaloo College and Rust College), the 2 dominant teams coming down the stretch, Wiley (Texas) and Rust College are the clear favorites heading into championship week, with Dillard out of Louisiana less than 5 games back of the leaders of the HBCU – Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
The Tournament is set to begin next Thursday at Smith Wills Stadium with seeding to be announced soon. Tickets are on sale now by visiting www.hankaaronsports.com or by stopping at the Smith Wills Stadium box office located at 1200 Cool Papa Bell Drive in Jackson.
The Hank Aaron Sports Academy was also the host of the Hope Credit Union GCAC Basketball Tournament that took place in February where the Tougaloo Bulldogs took the championship after losing only one game during its 2023 season.
