Hinds Lendon Players Justin Glass of Vicksburg, left, Amari Jordan of Jackson, right, and Mack Talley of Florence, below, appear in the production of “The Foreigner.”
The Lendon Players, based at Hinds Community College’s Raymond Campus, are performing Larry Shue’s comedy, “The Foreigner,” April 14-17 in Brooks Theatre.
The scene is a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by “Froggy” LeSueur, a British demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at a nearby army base. This time “Froggy” has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers.
So “Froggy,” before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should.
An ensemble group led by music instructor Brett Causey will perform at 6:30 p.m. The play will begin at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $8, student tickets are $5 and
Hinds employees are free. Tickets should be purchased online in advance but tickets will sell at the door, if any are left. Debit/credit cards only.
