Students at Clarkdale Elementary can look forward to enhanced musical performances, thanks to a generous grant awarded by the Community Foundation of East Mississippi (CFEM).
Music teacher Kylee McLemore received the grant to support the advancement of music technology in her classroom. With this funding, she plans to invest in wireless microphones, a new sound mixer, and possibly upgraded risers to improve student performances.
“Each year, our kindergarten, second, fourth, and sixth-grade students present programs,” McLemore explained. “This grant allows us to add to the equipment we already have, making those performances even more engaging and professional. We’re truly grateful to the Community Foundation for making this possible.”
McLemore was quick to credit her students for making the grant opportunity a reality. “Their commitment and effort in every performance gave us the foundation to apply. Without their dedication and willingness to learn, these programs wouldn’t exist. I want them to know that their hard work is what brought this to life.”
The funding was made available through the Margaret Delaney Arts Endowment, a fund dedicated to supporting creative initiatives in the region.
