Gulf Coast Community Foundation (GCCF) and its first affiliate, the Stone County Community Endowment Committee (SCCEC), have announced the new Stone County Community Endowment Fund. The formal announcement happened at the Rise & Shine Breakfast and Raffle Kickoff on February 27 at the Ferris B. O’Neal Senior Center in Wiggins. The event, hosted by GCCF and SCCEC, brought together community residents, local business owners and other professionals.
The Stone County Community Endowment Fund is an initiative spearheaded and administered by GCCF. The fund will support a variety of charitable causes and organizations in Stone County. The goal is for the Stone County community to raise $200,000 within three years, and GCCF will match 50 percent of donations up to $100,000. All funds will be earmarked specifically to meet pressing needs identified by the Stone County community.
The breakfast event also kicked off the fund’s inaugural fundraiser – a raffle set for April 18 in Stone County. The location of the raffle will be announced at a later date.
