Mississippi Delta Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of Danny Lynch as the new head coach of the Trojan baseball team for the 2025–2026 season. Lynch brings with him a strong background in both playing and coaching, most recently serving as the director of hitting and infield development at The University of Southern Mississippi during the 2024–2025 season. Prior to that, he was a graduate assistant for the Golden Eagles in 2023–2024.

During his two years on staff at Southern Miss, Lynch played a key role in the development of infielders and hitters. His contributions helped lead the program to notable achievements, including a conference championship in 2024 and a regional hosting appearance in 2025. His coaching experience, combined with a deep understanding of the game, positions him well to guide the Trojans into a new chapter of success.

Lynch’s connection to Southern Miss runs even deeper as he spent five seasons with the Golden Eagles as a player, from 2018 through 2023. His time on the field was marked by consistent excellence, helping lead the team to four consecutive NCAA regional appearances. In 2022, he played a central role on the team that hosted its first regional in Hattiesburg and followed that up by captaining the 2023 team to another regional title and hosting a second Super Regional. He was a leader both on and off the field, serving as team captain for both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. His leadership and longevity made an impact, and he remains the all-time leader in games played at Southern Miss.

Lynch’s playing and coaching resume reflects a strong commitment to excellence and player development, and Mississippi Delta Community College is confident that he will bring that same level of dedication and competitiveness to the Trojan baseball program.
