The City of Crystal Springs is proud to announce its participation in the Mississippi Arboreta Trail (MAT), a statewide initiative designed to recognize and promote public arboreta that celebrate Mississippi’s trees, native plants, environmental education, and community pride. The certified arboretum is located a the Chautauqua Interpretive Trails.
The Mississippi Arboreta Trail connects communities across the state through a growing network of public arboreta that provide residents and visitors with opportunities to experience the beauty of Mississippi’s natural landscapes while learning about the importance of trees, biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable community development.
As a participating community, the City of Crystal Springs will work with the Mississippi Urban Forest Council to promote its arboretum as a destination for education, recreation, tourism, and environmental stewardship. The arboretum will feature a diverse collection of tree species, educational signage, and opportunities for schools, civic organizations, and families to connect with nature.
