Mississippi retailer continues tradition of introducing innovative products while expanding beyond appliances, electronics and home furnishings
Cowboy Maloney’s is expanding what Mississippi customers can find in its stores with the introduction of TYTUS Grills, bringing a new outdoor cooking category to the longtime Mississippi retailer.
The addition represents another step in Cowboy Maloney’s growth under the O’Shaughnessy family ownership and continues a history of introducing customers to new products and technologies.
“For generations, Cowboy Maloney’s has been a place where Mississippi families come for the products that make their homes better,” said Michael O’Shaughnessy, founder and CEO of O’Shaughnessy Holding Company. “Adding TYTUS gives us an opportunity to take that same approach outside the home. We believe outdoor cooking is a natural extension of the Cowboy Maloney’s brand, and we’re excited to introduce these products to our customers across Mississippi.”
TYTUS Grills, also part of the O’Shaughnessy portfolio, specializes in outdoor cooking products designed around performance, durability and ease of use. The company’s freestanding lineup includes gas grills, griddles and charcoal grills, while the broader TYTUS collection also includes modular outdoor cooking systems and other specialty products.
One of the brand’s distinguishing features is its patented no-tool assembly system. TYTUS says its grills can go from the box to ready for cooking in approximately 10 minutes or less. The grills also feature materials and components such as stainless steel burners and porcelain-enameled cast-iron grates on select models.
The move into outdoor cooking follows a long tradition of innovation at Cowboy Maloney’s. In 1994, the retailer’s Jackson I-55 location was the site of the first commercial sale of a DirecTV digital satellite home system in the United States. Cowboy Maloney’s later played a similar role in the launches of Sirius Satellite Radio in 2002 and DishNET in 2012.
“Cowboy Maloney’s has never been afraid to try something new when we believe it is a good fit for our customers,” saidChris Ausbon, Cowboy Maloney General Manager. “People know us for appliances, televisions, mattresses and furniture, but we see a real opportunity to continue growing the products we offer for the home. In Mississippi, the backyard and patio are a big part of how families gather, and TYTUS is a great fit for that.”
Select TYTUS grills will begin arriving at Cowboy Maloney’s locations, giving customers the opportunity to see the products in person and receive the local service and assistance that have been hallmarks of the Cowboy Maloney’s brand since 1952.
