The Gulfport Arts Center is pleased to again host the Celebration of Art & Culture, a Black History Month Event. The exhibit will run from February 23rd through the 27th, displaying the work of African-American quilters, wood craftsmen, needle crafters, painters, authors, and ceramists. The exhibit will be open Saturday from 11am to 5pm, Sunday from 1pm to 5pm, Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 5pm.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 5pm to 8pm, with special remarks at 6pm.

Last year’s event drew several hundred attendees. This year we have extended the exhibition to accommodate more visitors, including school groups eager to experience the presentation firsthand.

The exhibit and reception are both free to the public, thanks to the generosity of many, including the event co-sponsors Hancock Whitney, The Legacy Business League, and JZ 94.5 Radio. Their support underscores their commitment to fostering cultural appreciation and accessibility within our community.
