Calling all Gospel Choirs! The Mississippi State Department of Health’s Office of Health Equity and the Community Engagement Center of the Jackson Heart Study are partnering for the “Be In Good Health Symposium and Gospel Choir Competition” coming up on April 27 at the Jackson Convention Complex.

The deadline for choirs to enter an audition video is Sunday, February 18, 2024. Choirs will compete for a prize pool of $10,000 provided by sponsors of the event.

The goal of the symposium on April 27 is to unite music and health in a symphony of well-being. The choir competition will take place between informative and lively TED-style talks from health experts.

Free on-site health screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, vision and dental will begin at 8:30 a.m. The choir competition and symposium will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
