ABB Senatobia

Global electrification and automation leader ABB is significantly expanding its operations in Senatobia, Mississippi, with a $40 million investment that will create 122 new jobs. The project is designed to meet rising market demand and strengthen the company’s manufacturing capabilities in the U.S.

The expansion includes a 200,000-square-foot addition to ABB’s existing Senatobia facility. Alongside the increased space, ABB will also install new equipment, allowing the site to boost production of its air circuit breaker and molded case circuit breaker product lines.

Governor Tate Reeves praised the announcement, calling it another sign of the state’s economic momentum. “Economic development in Mississippi is thriving, and this latest win from ABB continues that trend,” he said. “The reasons companies like ABB continuously choose to invest private capital and create more jobs in Mississippi are crystal clear: our inviting business environment and pro-business mindset. Mississippi has momentum, and this investment is further proof of that.”

Support for the project is being provided by the Mississippi Development Authority through its Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program. Additional local support is coming from Tate County and the City of Senatobia.

Bill Cork, Executive Director of the Mississippi Development Authority, emphasized the strategic advantages that continue to attract major investments. “So far in 2025, Mississippi has seen tremendous economic development success, and ABB’s latest investment in Tate County further builds upon that progress,” Cork stated. “We have the workforce, the resources, the prime location and extensive transportation network that enable companies to optimize speed to market. Combine these attributes with a government that works hard to ensure companies succeed in Mississippi, and it’s no wonder we are experiencing this momentum in all corners of our state. MDA is proud to once again support ABB as it grows in Senatobia.”

Founded in Switzerland, ABB has operated in the United States for more than a century and currently employs 17,000 people across 40 locations in 20 states. The company has invested over $3 billion in the U.S. since 2017, and the Senatobia expansion is the latest milestone in that ongoing commitment.

Local officials are equally enthusiastic about the economic boost the expansion will bring to the region. Anna Cardona, Executive Director of the Tate County Economic Development Foundation, expressed her excitement: “The Tate County and Senatobia community could not be more thrilled with the expansion of ABB. More jobs in our area means more residents living and working in Tate County, which is great.”

ABB expects to complete the expansion by the first quarter of 2026.
