Recently, the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB) successfully recovered a stolen farm truck. On August 16, the Mendenhall Police Department took a theft report of the stolen truck, and MALTB was contacted by the farmer about the stolen vehicle.

The MALTB, in conjunction with the Mendenhall Police Department, launched a grand larceny investigation.  By using video, witness statements and following leads, investigators were able to locate and recover the farm truck in rural Simpson County on the same day the theft occurred.

MALTB Director Dean Barnard would like to commend MALTB investigators along with the Mendenhall Police Department, Simpson County Sheriff’s Department and Rankin County Sheriff’s Department for their continued effort and work on the recovery of the stolen farm truck.

The MALTB, the law enforcement division of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, enforces state laws pertaining to the theft of cattle, horses, swine, poultry, fish, farm equipment, chemicals, timber and all other farm or agriculture-related crimes.
