Aluminum Dynamics, a recycled aluminum manufacturer, plans to invest more than $200 million to build a recycled aluminum slab center in Lowndes County, creating 100 new jobs and expanding Mississippi’s growing advanced manufacturing sector.
The new facility will be located in the Golden Triangle Industrial Park, where it will recycle aluminum-bearing materials into aluminum slabs for use in the aluminum products industry. Company officials expect the facility to begin operations during the first half of 2027.
Gov. Tate Reeves said the investment demonstrates Mississippi’s continued strength as a destination for advanced manufacturing projects.
“Mississippi continues to be a leader in American manufacturing,” Reeves said. “Aluminum Dynamics’ decision to once again invest in Mississippi is a powerful example of our state’s unprecedented momentum. This $200 million project will bring 100 good jobs to the Golden Triangle while building on its impressive reputation as one of the nation’s premier locations for advanced manufacturing. I appreciate Aluminum Dynamics’ continued confidence in Mississippi and the partnership that made this project possible.”
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for direct road and rail infrastructure improvements to support the project. The company also qualifies for tax incentives through the Mississippi Major Economic Impact Authority program, while Lowndes County is assisting with the development.
Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Bill Cork said the company’s decision to expand in the state reflects confidence in Mississippi’s business climate.
“There’s no stronger endorsement than a company choosing to reinvest where it has existing operations,” Cork said. “Aluminum Dynamics’ latest project shows that we have the workforce, infrastructure and project-ready environment manufacturers rely on to stay competitive. MDA is proud to support another investment that will generate quality jobs and grow Mississippi’s manufacturing economy.”
Aluminum Dynamics Operations Manager Devin Crawford thanked state and local leaders for their support as the company moves forward with the project.
“We are eager to move forward with this project, and we appreciate the warm welcome and support that we have received from Governor Tate Reeves and the State of Mississippi, as well as leaders from the Mississippi Development Authority and local leaders from the Lowndes County Board of Supervisors, the Lowndes County Industry Development Authority and the Golden Triangle Development LINK,” Crawford said.
Local economic development officials said the project further strengthens the Golden Triangle’s reputation as a manufacturing hub.
“Aluminum Dynamics’ planned investment in the Golden Triangle is another example of what’s possible when you have a strong workforce, solid infrastructure and partners who are committed to long-term success,” Golden Triangle Development LINK President and CEO Meryl Fisackerly said. “This project creates new opportunities for our communities, and we appreciate Aluminum Dynamics’ confidence in the Golden Triangle.”
The investment marks another major manufacturing announcement for the Golden Triangle region, reinforcing its role as one of Mississippi’s leading industrial corridors while adding new employment opportunities and supporting continued economic growth in Lowndes County.
