TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
South frontage road over Hanging Moss Creek to temporarily CLOSE in Jackson
WHO: The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).
WHAT: Temporary bridge closure.
WHEN: Beginning Monday, November 27, 2023. The closure is expected to remain in place up to four months.
WHERE: The south frontage road bridge over Hanging Moss Creek in Jackson, located just south of the Canton Mart Rd. and I-55 south frontage road intersection.
WHY: Crews will perform a repair to a bridge panel that was damaged by a recent fire underneath the bridge.
HOW: Signs are in place now to alert the public of the upcoming closure. During the closure, motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and seek a temporary alternate route around the closure using any number of local roads or the interstate.
