This year’s Starlight Gala will be held on Saturday, April 29 from 7 until 11 p.m. at the Pass Christian Yacht Club. The gala is a grand party that includes live and silent auctions for fantastic items – trips to Europe, a table for 10 at the Bacchus Ball, cochon de lait jambalaya party and everything in between. All proceeds go directly to the Boys & Girls Club of the Gulf Coast Pass Christian Unit, which currently provides support services to children living in Pass Christian and Long Beach.
“The Starlight Gala provides the funding for after-school care throughout the school year as well as summer day camps for kids in our area,” emphasized Trish Lyerla, chairwoman for the event. “These services give local parents the opportunity to work full-time and provide for their families without worrying about their children going home alone. And, the kids have a safe, really interesting place to go with mentors, computers, music and art activities, athletics, healthy snacks and, during the summer, breakfast and lunch.”
Tickets cost $125 per person, which includes live music by South, great food, a full open bar and the opportunity to participate in exciting live and silent auctions of adventurous trips, artwork, jewelry, fishing charters and more. To
purchase tickets or to make a donation, go to www.bgcgulfcoast.org/starlight-gala or call Sydney Wall, 228-806-5496.
“The mission of the Boys & Girls Club in Pass Christian is to make sure all young people reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens,” Lyerla continued. “The Starlight Gala is the major source of funding for these local programs. Those attending the gala will be helping us fulfill our mission, investing in our young people and strengthening our community –all while having a ball.”
