The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum will celebrate the accomplishments of seven outstanding athletes, coaches and sports leaders during its 63rd Annual Induction Weekend presented by Huntington Bank on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1.
The two-day event will recognize the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026 with a series of activities, including a Drawdown of Champions fundraiser, a public autograph session and the annual induction banquet.
The Class of 2026 includes Glen Collins (football), Louis Guy (football), Michael Haddix (football), Bobby Halford (baseball and coaching), Ronnie Mayers (swimming, coaching and administration), Johnny Parker (strength and conditioning and coaching), and Olympic long jump champion Brittney Reese.
The weekend begins at 6 p.m. Friday with the Drawdown of Champions at The Sheraton Flowood, 2200 Refuge Blvd. The fundraising event will feature a silent auction, a $5,000 drawdown and tastings from local restaurants.
On Saturday, the public is invited to meet the inductees during an autograph session from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum, 1152 Lakeland Drive in Jackson. The event also will include appearances by previous Hall of Fame inductees.
Credentialed members of the media will have an opportunity to interview members of the Class of 2026 beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Clyde Muse Center, 515 Country Place Parkway in Pearl.
The weekend will conclude with the 63rd Annual Induction Banquet presented by Huntington Bank at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Clyde Muse Center. The formal ceremony will honor the newest members of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame for their contributions to athletics and their lasting impact on sports in Mississippi and beyond.
